Isle of Wight - Around the Island Trek
The Isle of Wight situated just 5 miles off the south coast of England is a walker’s paradise with over half of it designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The island is just 23 miles by 13 miles and offers towering white cliffs, historical sites, bustling Victorian seaside resorts and picturesque sleepy villages.
The stunning Isle of Wight Coast Path takes a 67-mile route around the entire island coastline, with plenty of interesting sites to discover along the trail, including both natural wonders and historic landmarks including the spectacular chalk stacks of ‘The Needles', the multi-coloured sands of Alum Bay, quiet estuaries, wooded ‘chines' and the most spectacular beaches in the south of England. This moderate walking challenge must be on every keen walkers ‘to do list’.
Beginning in Cowes and following the coast in an anti-clockwise direction, Imp Adventures will base themselves centrally in Newport and travel out and back each day covering the entire trail in 2 full, and 2 half days.

Highlights before lunch include Alum Bay with its multi-coloured cliffs, the Islands most iconic landmark, the Needles with its 33m high lighthouse and panoramic views over Tennyson Down and the holiday resort of Freshwater Bay. We will take lunch at the fabulous Sun Inn in Hulverstone before following the stunning clifftop path past Black Gang Chine theme park before finishing the day with a well earned pint in the 16th century Buddle Inn in Niton undercliff.

In the morning we will pass through the seaside promenades and sandy beaches of Shanklin and Sandown, the Victorian resort of Vintner and the pretty little villages of Bonchurch and Luccombe before taking lunch at a seafront bar in Sandown. Following lunch we will pass over the National Trust owned Bembridge Down with its imposing Earl of Yarborough Monument then down through woodlands near Whitecliff Bay and on to Bembridge with its beaches and harbour set against the spectacular backdrop of Culver Down. We will finish the days trek in the busy port town of Ryde after a full on, and demanding day of stunning coastal paths.
