Italy, Tuscan 3 Peaks
The mountains are both soaring and dramatic and a stunning contrast to the lush highly vegetated plunging valleys and tumbling rivers that divide them. The peaks tower to over 1800 meters and afford incredible views over the surrounding countryside and coastline.
Tuscan Three Peaks Trek
Tuscany is one of the most beautiful and accessible landscapes in Europe, with picturesque villages tucked away between stunning mountains and dramatic valleys.
We will stay at the high mountain hamlet of 'Vornovalasco' where we will spend 3 days trekking across the Peaks of 'Pania della Croce', 'Pania della Secca' and the stunning natural arch of 'Monte Forato'.
The mountains are both soaring and dramatic and a stunning contrast to the lush highly vegetated plunging valleys and tumbling rivers that divide them. The peaks tower to over 1800 meters and afford incredible views over the surrounding countryside and coastline.
We shall seek refuge for one night in a high mountain walkers hut, and for two nights in the charming village of Vornovalasco. Our route will cross exposed ridges, and high peaks Monte Forato (1208m), Pania della Croce (1858m), and Pania Secca (1709m), therefore it is important that all participants are prepared for the challenge and have a good head for moderate exposure, although most regular hill walkers will find the challenge both amenable and equally rewarding.
