1. Essential Winter Skills and Summits
This 7-day course (5 x hill days) is the ideal introduction for the experienced summer mountaineer wishing to take their love of the hills a stage further and enjoy the solitude, splendour, and beauty of the Scottish Highlands. During this 7-day adventure, participants will learn how to best use an ice axe and crampons to ascend classic Scottish Mountains, whilst learning about the essential skills and techniques associated with Winter Mountaineering.
2. Winter Mountaineering
This 7-day course is suitable for those with limited experience of Scottish winter mountaineering and winter techniques, who would like to refresh their knowledge whilst climbing some of Scotland's classic Munro's and winter routes.

Itinerary
- Day 1 – Meet on Friday at Manchester rail/plane or Friday evening in Bunkhouse in Fort William followed by comprehensive briefing and clothing and equipment check.
- Day 2 – Introductory day, use of ice axe and crampons, including ice axe arrest and other basic skills.
- Day 3 – Mountain Skills day, Avalanche risk, understanding the weather and calculating the winter risk.
- Day 4 – Mountain skills day, movement on steep ground, including snow anchors and the use of a rope.
- Day 5 – Mountain skills day, introduction to winter Navigation.
- Day 6 – Mountain Day, ascent of classic Munro summit/ridge
- Day 7 - Breakfast and departure.

Accommodation will be in a quality bunkhouse including breakfasts.

Transport
A minibus and dedicated driver will be used throughout. (Pick-ups from Manchester and Glasgow can be arranged on route)
