Pyrenees Hut Trek

Join us on a fantastic high-level route through the French / Spanish Pyrenees. The 450km long mountain divide between Continental Europe and the Iberian Peninsula, provides a wealth of trekking and climbing opportunities for novices and both accomplished mountaineers alike, with permanent glaciers and rocky summits reaching up to 3404m (Pico de Aneto) the Pyrenees is the smart adventurers 'Alps', achievable, affordable, and amenable, and far less busy than the Swiss Alps.

Your Adventure cherry picks some of the best sections of the GR10, GR11 and the Pyrenean High Level Route (HRP).
5 Days of challenging trekking, taking in the 'Pic du Midi d'Ossau', 'The Cirque de Gavarnie' and the spectacular 'Breche de Roland' culminating in an ascent of the 'Pic du Taillon' 3144m.

A spectacular journey that takes us through some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in Europe. We will spend 5 nights in mountain huts during our trek and spend an average of 6 hours trekking each day, with plenty of time put aside to take in the breathtaking scenery, abundance of flora and fauna, and maybe even partake in a refreshing dip in one of the many crystal clear streams or lagoons that we pass by.

• 2. Sun – Tour of Pic du Midi d' Ossau 13km 885m 6hrs overnight Cauterets.
• 3. Mon – Pont d' Espagne – Refuge des Oulettes de Gaube 7.5km 655m 3hrs overnight.
• 4. Tue – Refuge des Oulettes de Gaube – Refuge de Bayssellance – Barrage d'Ossoue – Gavarnie 9km 583m 5hrs overnight in Gavarnie 'Les Granges de Holle'
• 5. Wed – 'Col de Tentes' – 'Refuge de la Breche' 5.5km 379m 3hrs overnight Refuge
• 6. Thu – 'Refuge de la Breche' – 'Breche de Roland – Pic du Taillon 3144m – Gavarnie 'Les Granges de Holle' 8km 560m 6hrs overnight.
• 7. Fri – Gavarnie – Biarritz – UK.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be in guesthouses and Alpine refuges throughout, including breakfasts.

Equipment

Normal summer hill walking clothing and equipment will be required as per the website kit list. (A lightweight sleeping bag or hut liner will be required)

Transport

A dedicated minibus support vehicle and driver will accompany the trip throughout.
