UK, Mourne Mountains 7x7s Challenge
Over 2700 metres of ascent and 29km's of wild walking, climbing the seven summits over 700 metres in Northern Ireland is no easy feat. with most walkers taking between 10 and 12 hours to complete this classic challenge. It is a comparable challenge to the 'Yorkshire 3 Peaks'.
Mourne Mountains 7 x 7s
To climb the seven highest mountains in Northern Irelands majestic 'Mourne Mountains'. There are seven summits over 700m, which will take a 29km trek including over 2725m of ascent to accomplish, with most average walkers taking between 10 and 12 hours to complete.
If you thought the Yorkshire 3 peaks was a challenge then this wont disappoint! The shortest route round will prove a real test of physical and mental stamina, but give a wonderful feeling on completion (apart from the exhaustion) Best undertaken on a long summers day with blue skies and (not too) warm temperatures.
Imp Adventures will aim to complete the challenge in under 12 hours but will not rush anyone to finish so long as they are making forward progress and are in good health. The Challenges will take place over weekends during the long summer daylight hours, with participants arriving at Belfast Airport for onward conveyance to the Mourne national park on a Friday night. After a comfortable nights rest in a local bunkhouse the attempt will start early on the following morning with a hopeful celebration at a local hostelry on the Saturday evening. Participants will then be dropped off at Belfast Airport for their return flight on the Sunday afternoon.
